Pipe Relining

Pipe Relining is a cost effective, long lasting solution to recurring drain blockages. Relining will stop tree roots from invading your home's stormwater and sewer piping.

Durable Pipe Relining Solutions

Damaged stormwater or sewer pipes on your property can lead to unwanted and inconvenient plumbing issues for your home. Ongoing blockages and clogs are a major tell-tale sign of faulty pipes and plumbing.

While your first concern will be on clearing the blockage, it's important to consider the long term outcomes. Drain clearing is positive, but it will not always prevent future clogs. Meanwhile, pipe replacement can be invasive and costly upfront.

Thankfully, pipe relining is a viable option for anyone! It can be more cost effective, and won’t compromise on the functionality of your plumbing system either. It’s also non-invasive and doesn’t require excavation or digging up of your garden!

If this sounds like a more suitable solution for your home, do not hesitate to get in touch with Upside Down. Our licensed plumbers are stormwater and sewer system experts! We'll deliver a long lasting solution that will prevent inconvenient drain issues.

How Does Pipe Relining Work?

Upside Down provides quality pipe relining services as a cost effective alternative to excavating and replacing. Now, it's important to acknowledge that pipe relining is only possible if the damage to your pipes isn't too extensive.

But if there is only a small amount of cracking or damage, it's perfect.

Stormwater and sewer pipe relining involves first clearing out any remaining debris from the pipes using a hydro jet cleaner. The plumber then fashions a ‘sleeve’ comprised of a resin that is fitted into the inside of your pipes. With the help of compressed air, the resin sleeve expands and joins to the inside of the pipe.

This forms a hard protective lining that weathers any tree root invasion and guards against leaking from any existing cracks or breaks. Relining pipes increases your plumbing’s longevity, often adding decades to its lifespan.

Once completed, you'll have reinforced pipes that are good as new. And all without the hassle of excavation. It's a job best performed by professionals, though, so be sure to call Upside Down for all your relining needs.

Benefits of Sewer Pipe Relining

There are numerous benefits to stormwater or sewer pipe relining. It's a durable solution that's going to work for any home and any system of pipes.

For example, if you have tree roots that are repeatedly invading your sewer pipes, the new hardened sleeve will prevent them from penetrating your pipes. The relined pipe will be rock hard and impervious to even the toughest roots.

Relining also prevents stormwater or sewage from seeping through cracks in the piping into the soil, protecting the integrity of your home's foundations.

The process doesn’t require excavation or any heavy machinery to dig up the backyard. It's a more cost effective alternative to replacing or repairing pipes as no digging or equipment hire is necessary. Relining your pipes provides minimal disruption to your regular daily routine.

Finally, pipe relining isn’t just a temporary quick fix; it can last decades. It provides maximum protection for your plumbing and your home in general. If that sounds like a good deal, call Upside Down for any emergency plumbing repairs or pipe lining needs.

Pipe Relining FAQ

Got any questions about pipe relining? Want to know more about relining pipes? We’re here to answer your questions!

Pipe relining is a process used to repair leaks and cracks in plumbing pipes from the inside.

The pipe lining process involves an experienced plumber clearing out your pipes with a high pressure hydro jet cleaner. Once free of any debris, the plumber installs an expandable resin sleeve that sticks to the inside of the pipe once it is inflated. The sleeve creates an impervious new layer that seals any existing cracks (as long as they’re not too severe), prevents intrusion from tree roots, and repairs any leaks.

Quite simply, unlike repairing or replacing pipes, the relining method doesn’t require digging up your garden to get the job done. Pipe relining is largely non-invasive, and can extend the life of your pipes for decades by improving their durability and flow capacity. Compared to replacing or repairing pipes, it’s a relatively cost-effective alternative that creates minimal disruption to your home.

Typically it’s the sewer and stormwater pipes we reline. The sewer pipes are part of the plumbing in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry and toilet, and pipe relining helps to fix and prevent future drain blockages in these parts of the house. Stormwater pipes found on roofs and gutters can also benefit from the pipe reline process.
